What Our Fees Cover
We pride ourselves on an exceptional service and numerous opportunities for children at Kingdom, which you will experience during your visit. Our service goes above and beyond what is mandated by the Department of Education such as higher ratios, higher qualified staff, superb food provision, extra-curricular activities and extras. The statutory guidance from the DofE states that the government funding is not intended to cover the costs of meals, other consumables, additional hours or additional services. The guidance also states that we may charge for these, however any charges for meals and additional services must not be mandatory, and parents must voluntarily opt in to pay them, or an alternative option must be offered. We do offer a totally free session in the afternoons for parents choosing to opt out. This session must be part of a totally free place, contract and like all our other sessions will be subject to availability and waiting lists.
Additional Services and Extras Fee
Our Additional Services and Extras Charge Covers everything we offer over and above the government paid for EYFS Provision and we have listed them below. Please see the information on how we deliver our funding for further details on this.
Forest school sessions
Our amazing staff in forest school are trained not only in childcare but also in forest school leadership to ensure your child receives the best experience and teaching. All your child’s specialist clothing and equipment is provided for them; we even have spare wellies! We also launder all our clothing in-house.
Essential Care Package
At Kingdom we want to make sure every child has access to the essentials they may need from day to day, such as Calpol, suncream, wipes, etc. In addition to these, we store and launder spare items of clothing, should they need them. All this takes staff time and money to provide.
Special Events
Every year we run a programme of special events. This includes parties to celebrate graduation, summer, and Christmas, our nativity events, stay and play sessions, and various other parent and grandparent occasions, plus two parents’ evening! Again, these all demand extra staff and resources.
Resources
For the specialist activities we include at the setting, we ensure that the right tools and materials are available for all children. For example, we need tools designed specifically for children for woodworking, for pottery we need clay and other materials, and we provide ingredients and equipment for our cooking and baking sessions.
Activities and Trips Out
These are an essential part of Kingdom life; we offer children a variety of experiences so that their experience is a truly enriching one. Some of these activities include local trips in our fully-expensed electric minivan, whilst others are led by external experts in the their field, such as football, dynamic sports, and little music stars, to name only a few.
Catering*
Our expert chefs shop for the freshest ingredients, cook healthy age-appropriate meals, and clear away every mealtime. Our home-cooked, fresh meals consider baby-led weaning, and all allergies are catered for. We are also proud of our seed to plate ethos, with the children growing and harvesting food they consume too.
