Deputy Manager Vacancy

We have a multi-functional, large premises that has great scope for even more growth and we are looking to expand our staff team again. We require a deputy manager to oversee the nursery and after school club provision. They must be an experienced nursery practitioner with a minimum of a level 3 qualification. You will have at least 3 years’ experience working in early years and at least 1 years experience as a room leader/supervisor or deputy of a setting . The position is all year round with a working week of between 35-40 hours. The right applicant will be able to demonstrate all the key requirements of the EYFS to an excellent standard, and great organisational and leadership qualities.
Some of the responsibilities include:-

  • Deputising for the Manager and to be responsible for the daily running of the Nursery & After school provision, including care and welfare of the children and delivery of the curriculum, each day and in her absence.
  • To work with the Manager to ensure that staff ratios are maintained and that there is effective staff deployment, supervision, mentoring and recognition of training needs for all staff and students.
  • Be a designated Safeguarding Lead Person.
  • To carry out parent consultations and to ensure that each key child’s Learning Journey is kept up to date, and to complete the two year progress check and tri-annual summaries, including a transition summary for the child’s transfer to the next setting.
  • To adhere to, update and implement the settings policies and procedures, with particular regard to Health and Safety, Behaviour, Safeguarding Children, Equality and Diversity, Inclusion, Special Educational Needs, and Confidentiality.
  • To be responsible for, all aspects of health and safety, and to actively recognise that the safeguarding of all children is paramount.
  • To supervise and assist with the daily setting up of indoor and outdoor environments to provide for the safety, well being and inclusion of the children attending the Nursery.
  • To lead, motivate and organise a large staff team, including their training, individual performance, continuous professional development and staff meetings.
  • To assist with the planning and implementation of the curriculum with age appropriate and stimulating activities to ensure that the children’s learning and development needs are met, as well as enhancing their teaching and learning at every available opportunity.
